Jun 9, 2016 FoodTech News

As FoodTech Qld, the new and only trade event for the food and beverage manufacturing industry in Queensland fast approaches, the reasons to attend keep mounting.

Here are the top 5 reasons of why FoodTech is not to be missed!

1. Great seminars

Recently announced seminar sessions will be led by industry experts and cover trending topics and issues pertinent to the food manufacturing industry.

Topics include the importance of pH in food management, emerging ingredient trends, the issue of energy efficiency, industry technology developments on infrastructure, and the increasing demand for food traceability across both industry and consumers.

Check out the full timetable.

2. Mix it with the country’s top food scientists

Get up close and personal with the country’s best food scientists at the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology (AISFT) 49th Annual Convention.

Program highlights include: Andre Teixeira from CSIRO discussing Challenging the Innovation Thought Process, Elliot Chapple from Pozible presenting on Driving Digital Innovation Through Crowdsourcing, and Maja Christiansen of Bruker discussing Mass Spec and Confirmation of Microbiological Pathogens.

3. Robots doing cool stuff

Robots are an increasing element in the food manufacturing and processing industries. Keen to meet one? A clever Bot called Kuka will be showing off its skills, even holding an iPad for visitors to the Wiley stand (Stand D27), and they’re even giving a robot away! HMPS (Stand B27) is also bringing their robot YuMi to the show – the world’s first truly collaborative dual-arm robot.

5. Go to the movies

Take some time out from the bustle of the show floor to head to the movies. The creative team at Gelita (Stand H34) has put together a short film detailing the amazing world of gel and its incredible usage. Titled You Can See, take the time to stop by and learn how you too can see the world through new eyes. The storytelling of the Gelita story will no doubt inspire you.

5. Learn how to clean up your act

The importance of food safety, food labelling, and increasingly food traceability, cannot be underestimated. From expert seminars to products on display from specialist providers, get access and insight to the crucial tasks of food and microbial testing, cleaning products and methods, and equipment designed to increase safety and decrease problems at the show. Take control of the health of your business – and of your customers – through access to information including how to avoid the incredibly common problem of listeria, and products designed to make testing for food allergens.
