FoodTech Qld

At Diversified Communications Australia we understand that being a responsible and sustainable business is essential, and our actions and decisions have a significant impact on the world around us.

That’s why we have committed to working with our visitors, exhibitors, and stakeholders to consider the impact our industry has on the environment and society we work in. We are striving to operate with environment and social responsibility and our goal is to create a better future for our customers, ourselves, and future generations.

While there are big challenges ahead of us, we understand that little steps can go a long way and every change can make a difference. Our sustainability journey includes initiatives across our events and the wider business, so please explore our efforts and see how we are making a positive impact.

Minimising Our Environmental Impact
  • We aim to reduce the number of printed signs and use digital signage where available
  • We aim to reuse or recycle all printed signage at the event
  • We aim to use less paper
  • We are using lanyards made out of recycled bottles and food packaging, and we will recycle the lanyards at the completion of the event
  • Our event registration badges are printed on recycled material
  • Water filling stations are available at our events and we encourage all attendees to bring reusable drinking bottles
  • We encourage our Exhibitors to exhibit sustainably.
  • All carpet, furniture and AV equipment provided by the organiser is hired and will be reused across multiple events before being disposed responsibly
Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
  • We will turn off all electricity overnight
  • We will have separate waste bins, to encourage visitors to use appropriate bins for waste disposal
  • All food waste and coffee grounds will be composted
  • Where possible food has been sourced using local food producers
Supporting Our Local Communities
  • Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre is located in the Yugambeh region of south east Queensland. We acknowledge the Yugambeh people and pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
  • Where possible, the GCCEC and our event suppliers will utilise the services of first nations businesses to supply services in respect of the delivery of the event
  • We will partner with the venue to ensure any leftover food products will be donated to a food rescue organisation
