Speaker Profile

Robert Speight is Professor of Microbial Biotechnology and acting Head of the School of Biology and Environmental Science at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His career spans positions in both the biotech industry and universities and he is passionate about developing technologies that can be scaled and make an impact in the real world. Research in his QUT team is focused on synthetic biology and the engineering of microbial cell factories for use in precision fermentation processes.
